Stage 4 - Tuesday 21st  July – Ardalstangen – Sogndal. 

113km and 2500m climbing, including a 26km TT, and 44km neutral transfer riding section.

Wet, cold and high. We came over the top through the snow down to sea level again, and now are trying to dry everything out... Leah's comment - a good demonstration of rule #5. 4 degrees and raining through snow fields. A tough day out. Enough said.

A 47km climb to the second high point on the profile below. Possibly the coldest I have been on a bike for some time! High, lots of snow, rain and a bit of wind. I think my Garmin said 2 degrees C at the top. Any colder and there would be ice. The worst was the downhill between the two peaks. Cold.

We then had a long downhill back to sea level, before a 26km TT into Sogndal.

Tomorrow we have a ferry to the start, and a 1000m+ climb at the start as a warmup for the highlight of a day, a 20%+ 2km climb. I think total 185km. I hope it is not raining.

Not much more to be said apart from it was cold, and we can only hope for some sunny weather at some stage.
